DB Museum (Railway Museum)
The DB Museum in Nuremberg is the railway museum of Deutsche Bahn and its collections go back to 1882. Its permanent exhibition tells the history of the railway in Germany, from the first line between Nuremberg and Fürth, travelled in 1835 by the locomotive Adler. Besides that exhibition there is a model railway that has existed since 1960, an outdoor area with rolling stock, the Modellarium and a section for children with "Grandpa Adler". Its exhibits include a replica of the Adler locomotive and the saloon carriages of King Ludwig II of Bavaria and of Bismarck. It is on Lessingstraße, next to the old town and the central station, and is worth a couple of hours. That line, the Ludwigsbahn, opened on 7 December 1835.
