Platja de Ponent
The Platja de Ponent is the urban beach on the west side of Salou, a little over a kilometre long (about 1,115 metres), running parallel to the Passeig Miramar. It has fine golden sand and a gently sloping entry into the sea, with calm, clear water. The marina separates it from the Llevant beach. It has lifeguards, a first-aid post, showers, toilets (one adapted), a children's play area, an access ramp to the water for people with reduced mobility and an amphibious chair. Sunbeds and parasols can be hired, there are beach bars and restaurants, and you can go windsurfing, hobie-cat sailing, kayaking, banana-boating, pedalo riding and use floating platforms, as well as football and volleyball pitches. At its western end, Cape Sant Pere separates it from the Cambrils beaches, and from its sand you can see the outline of the Cap de Salou across the bay.
