Estación del Norte
Railway station designed by Demetrio Ribes, architect of the Compañía de los Caminos de Hierro del Norte de España. Works began on 2 August 1907 and it opened on 8 August 1917. It is a building in the Valencian Art Nouveau style with influences from the Vienna Secession and Otto Wagner. The façade includes plant motifs such as oranges and orange blossom, and above the central section appear a five-pointed star and an eagle, a symbol of speed. Inside, the concourse combines wood, glass and marble, with glazed ceramics, trencadís and mosaic from the La Ceramo factory in Benicalap; the wooden dados bear the motto "bon voyage" in several languages. The metal canopy over the platforms is the work of Enrique Grasset and is crowned with the four red bars on a gold background of the Valencian coat of arms. It is on Calle Xàtiva, next to the bullring, and was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1983.
