Quijano Pantheon
CultureVisit: ~15 min
Romantic garden and funerary monument on Plaza de Santa Teresa, in the San Antón neighbourhood. Francisco Morell y Gómez built it between 1855 and 1857, commissioned by the City Council, in memory of the civil governor Trinitario González de Quijano, hero of the 1854 cholera epidemic. The pantheon is a large obelisk with four sculptural groups; the park also has a romantic grotto restored in 2011, a fountain with a basin and a reservoir.
