A street market in central Brixton, extending into the Reliance Arcade, Market Row and Granville Arcade (renamed Brixton Village in 2009). It is known for its African and Caribbean produce. Electric Avenue, from the 1880s, was one of the first streets to have electric lighting. Since 2011 many of the units have been cafés and restaurants serving a variety of cuisines.
