Rue des Barres
CultureVisit: ~15 min
Medieval street of about 130 m in the 4th arrondissement, between rue de l'Hôtel-de-Ville and rue François-Miron, next to the apse of the church of Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais (no. 11). At no. 12 there is a half-timbered house rebuilt in 1540 for the nuns of Maubuisson, now a youth hostel. Named after the hôtel des Barres (around 1250), it is one of the streets with the most old-world air in the Marais.
