The MAC is an arts centre in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter that combines visual arts exhibitions with theatre, dance and family workshops throughout the year. Inside you can see 'The Permanent Present', an installation by Mark Garry made of 400 coloured copper threads that descend from a high window to the first floor. The building, by the studio Hackett Hall McKnight, is organised into brick volumes and a basalt tower with three glazed floors, and its architecture has won awards.
