Quirinal Palace
CultureVisit: ~30 min
Palace on the Quirinal Hill, the highest in Rome, built from 1583 as a summer residence of the popes. It later became the royal palace of the House of Savoy and, since 1946, the official residence of the President of the Italian Republic. The interior can be visited with advance booking; the freely accessible Piazza del Quirinale has an obelisk between the statues of the Dioscuri and a wide view of Rome towards St Peter's.
