A huge open-air laundry in Mahalaxmi, made up of rows of concrete washing pens where the dhobis hand-wash clothes from hotels, hospitals and private households. It is best seen from the footbridge next to Mahalaxmi station. It is one of the city's best-known sights of traditional labour.
