Clarence House

CultureVisit: ~60 minFrom €10Opening hours: Abierto al público aproximadamente un mes cada verano, normalmente en agosto

Clarence House is a royal residence next to St James's Palace, on The Mall, between Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square. Built between 1825 and 1827 to a design by John Nash for the Duke of Clarence, the future William IV, it is a four-storey building with a pale stucco façade and is Grade I listed. It opens to the public for about a month each summer, usually in August. Inside, the layout of the main rooms and the grouping of their contents are preserved as they were in the Queen Mother's time, with much of her collection of artworks and furniture in its original positions. The building has been remodelled and redecorated several times, especially after the damage suffered during the Second World War, and it was the home of Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip after their marriage in 1947, of the Queen Mother from 1953 to 2002, and of King Charles III and Queen Camilla since 2003.
