Titanic Belfast
At Titanic Belfast, visitors explore nine interactive galleries tracing the story of the Titanic, from life in Belfast in the early 20th century and the ship's construction at the Harland & Wolff shipyard to its launch, fitting-out and tragic maiden voyage. Highlights include a mini-ride through a recreation of the shipyard and a full-scale replica of the Titanic's enormous rudder, as well as reconstructions of cabins, decks and engine rooms. The building, on the very site where the Titanic was built, also houses a replica of the ship's famous grand staircase and offers direct views of the original slipways and dry docks from which it was launched. There is also a live link to the Titanic wreck, and visitors can take an outdoor guided tour around the shipyard's historic surroundings.
