Ágora (CaixaForum València)
The Ágora is the building by Santiago Calatrava that closes off the City of Arts and Sciences on the east, conceived as a covered square and meeting place. Today it is CaixaForum València, a cultural centre of the la Caixa Foundation whose interior was designed by Enric Ruiz-Geli of the Cloud 9 studio as if it were a living organism, with organic and landscape-like forms. At its centre floats the Cloud, a structure that houses an open workshop. From it comes Arc al ciel, an intangible installation by Inma Femenía that draws a rainbow with vapour and light. In the lake around the building stands Palafit, a golden house on stilts, a permanent sculpture by Anna Talens that evokes the life of the Albufera farmers. Inside there are temporary exhibitions on art, science, literature, film, technology and nature, as well as an auditorium. It stands next to the Museu de les Ciències and the l'Assut de l'Or bridge.
