A Buddhist temple founded in the year 794, in the heart of Gangnam opposite the COEX centre, where it contrasts with the skyscrapers. It holds more than 3,000 wooden tablets carved with the Avatamsaka Sutra and a statue of Maitreya Buddha about 23 metres tall. It offers a temple stay programme for visitors.
