Clock Tower
The Clock Tower is in the square of the same name, in the old town of Estepona. It is all that remains of the old church of Los Remedios, built after the Christian conquest and ruined by the earthquake of 1755; the building was demolished and the tower was left standing alone. When the parish moved to the former Franciscan convent, the tower remained as a bell tower without a church. On its south side it preserves a sundial, and the upper section has a neoclassical finial with ceramic decoration. In the 20th century a large clock was installed inside, which is still working. You cannot climb it or go in: the tower is admired from the square, with the whitewashed houses of the neighbourhood around it.
