Babington's Tea Rooms
Food & drinkVisit: ~60 min
English tearoom at the foot of the Trinità dei Monti steps, on Piazza di Spagna. It was opened in 1893 by Isabel Cargill, a New Zealander, and Anna Maria Babington, an Englishwoman, for Rome's British community, when tea was only sold in pharmacies. It started in the nearby Via dei Due Macelli and later moved to Piazza di Spagna 23. It is still in the hands of Cargill's descendants.
