Burggarten
NatureVisit: ~60 minFree
In the Burggarten, visitors stroll through historic gardens originally designed for the royal family after Napoleon's forces destroyed the city's fortifications. Inside the park stands the Palmenhaus, a Jugendstil-style structure that serves as a greenhouse and butterfly house. The park is home to several statues, including one of Francis I, the oldest equestrian monument in Vienna, as well as sculptures of Mozart, Francis Joseph I and Abraham a Sancta Clara. There is also a fountain with a sculpture of Hercules and the Nemean lion, set in the park's pond.
