Albertina
The Albertina is a museum in the centre of Vienna where visitors can explore one of the largest graphic art collections in the world, with around 65,000 drawings and close to a million prints spanning from the 15th century to the present day. Highlights among the works on paper include pieces by artists such as Dürer, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Rembrandt, Renoir, Cézanne, Klimt and Egon Schiele, as well as photographs and architectural plans. The permanent exhibition centres on the Batliner Collection, which brings together Impressionist and modern art paintings, including works by Monet, Degas, Matisse, Kandinsky, Picasso and Giacometti. The museum occupies a historic palace built on Vienna's old city walls, and visitors can explore both its temporary exhibition halls and the spaces dedicated to the building's history and its evolution as a residence and museum.
