Paseo de Reding
An avenue in Málaga's Centro district, about 450 metres long, that separates the La Malagueta neighbourhood, to the south, from Campos Elíseos, to the north. It is named after the Swiss soldier Theodor von Reding, victor over the French at Bailén and later military governor of Málaga. Its development began in the mid-19th century with modest two-storey houses; in the 1870s detached houses designed by the architect Gerónimo Cuervo arrived, and in the 1920s, hotels and villas. Along its length you will find the La Malagueta bullring, the Hospital Noble, the Palacio de la Tinta, the Palacio Miramar and the Casas de Félix Sáenz, built in 1922 by Fernando Guerrero Strachan in a Regionalist style, with Neo-Mudéjar and Neo-Renaissance elements, brick, ceramics and towers with a square or octagonal plan.
