Centre Pompidou Málaga
Centre Pompidou Málaga is housed in El Cubo, a glass-fronted building next to the port, where visitors explore semi-permanent exhibitions examining 20th- and 21st-century art through themes such as metamorphosis, self-portraits and the political body. The ground floor holds the shop, lockers, the Young Public Space with interactive exhibition-workshops for families and children, and the temporary exhibition hall, while the lower level houses the rooms of the semi-permanent collection and an auditorium. The museum also runs outreach activities for adults, families and students, as well as performances, screenings and events inviting visitors to experience different art forms. Works on display have included pieces by artists such as Frida Kahlo, Picasso, Francis Bacon and Joan Miró, and the programme includes temporary exhibitions of photography, design, architecture and film.
