Concha de la Explanada Auditorium
Right on the Explanada de España promenade you will find this bandstand of about 40 m², whose shell-shaped roof is cantilevered about eight metres above the ground without pillars, thanks to three steel structures that hold up a concrete slab. Designed by Miguel López González and completed in 1954 to replace an earlier pavilion, its shape is designed to project sound, which is why it serves as a stage for concerts and cultural events, especially in summer. If you visit in the summer season, there are likely to be performances by the municipal symphonic band, by bands and musical societies from the province, or one of the festivals it hosts, such as the International Folklore Festival and Alacant Rock.
