Planetarium am Insulaner
The Planetarium am Insulaner is a planetarium at the foot of the Insulaner hill in Berlin-Schöneberg. It has a 20-metre-diameter dome and 291 seats in comfortable reclining chairs. Until its closure in July 2023, it offered 360° projections, live astronomy lectures, audiobooks, readings, musical shows and children's programmes. The building also houses an astronomical library and has been a listed monument since 1991. It currently remains closed for renovation and modernisation work, and is expected to reopen as an astronomy education centre. Telescope observation is carried out at the nearby Wilhelm Foerster Observatory, which remains open.
