Chigi Palace

CultureVisit: ~30 minFree

Palazzo Chigi stands in central Rome, between Piazza Colonna and Via del Corso, with its best-known façade facing the square. The main entrance is on Via del Corso, while the access from the square leads to a courtyard of honour with a staircase built by the architect Felice della Greca. On the piano nobile are rooms such as the world map room, which preserves two 17th-century globes representing the celestial and terrestrial spheres, and the Council of Ministers room, decorated with tapestries from the school of Rubens and a frieze from 1665. The Deti gallery, on the corner between Via del Corso and Piazza Colonna, is decorated with gilded stuccoes and frescoes with biblical themes.
