Church of San Juan de Sahagún
The church stands on Calle Toro with a Neo-Romanesque façade topped by a tower ending in a pinnacle. In the upper part is a rose window flanked by two reliefs depicting miracles of San Juan de Sahagún: the yellow well and the pacification of the feuding factions; below are seven blind arches and a pointed-arch doorway. The interior, with a central nave in a Latin cross and two side aisles and a polygonal apse, preserves images from vanished Salamanca churches: the martyrs of Santa Eulalia, a carving of San Boal attributed to Alonso Berruguete or his circle, the Virgin and Child of San Boal, and works of the Magdalene, the Virgen del Gran Dolor and Franciscan saints from San Antonio el Real. In the baptismal chapel are kept an Italian painting of Our Lady of Good Counsel and the font of San Mateo, from where the Cristo del Consuelo that presides over the high altar also comes.
