White Tower
Torre Blanca is a square defensive tower 18 metres high that forms part of Albarracín's walled enclosure. Its thick rubble masonry walls incorporate small iron slag fragments, and its door opens to the north more than eight metres above the outside ground, a feature typical of towers built to withstand sieges. It stands at the southern end of the steep meander of the Guadalaviar river, next to the Church of Santa María, and formed part of the town's defensive triangle with the Alcázar and the Torre del Andador. Restored in 2001 by the Fundación Santa María de Albarracín, it regained its defensive appearance and is now used as an exhibition hall.
