The Puerta de Doce Cantos is a monumental gate in the eastern part of Toledo's old town. Of Arab origin, it stands at the southeast end of the Al-Hieén fortress and allowed foot soldiers to pass towards the Alcántara parade ground. It remained walled up for centuries and was restored with the urban reforms of the 1920s, although part of its Arab structure had been lost.
